The 6 December protest is very important because it sparked on these students a light, a light that they had read in history books, only seen in online movies, while their parents and others of most generations the big ones did not even see him: the Light of Faith.
This generation that has filled the streets of Albania today was born around 97 years and has not seen turmoil and revolutions; the laying of Enver Hoxha's bust knows the books; these young people have been too young to hear calls before the premiership as "Mjaft", "Nano Ik", have been 8-10 years old when Gerdec broke out and no one was convicted, were still at puberty when four innocent people were killed on the boulevard during a protest and again nobody resigned. Nobody spoke to this generation about protests, because unfortunately, they were born and raised in the most dangerous system of governance: the Peace of Delivery.
Their parents gave up; accept injustice and pay bribes; acknowledged that the righteous person does not always wager and pay the bill; they voted to believe and were disappointed alike; acknowledged that every MP, every man in power with a 100,000 L salary obviously has to steal 1 million euros; admitted that the mumble, ignorant, aggressive might rule violently and the Lek Force of illegal businesses and get up on the pedestal.
This generation grew up with confused parents who no longer believed in the advice they had given to their fathers as "the best always wins", "fight for your right", "invest in something you love", but fear they made skeptics and pragmatists and prompted the children to "catch a school where they were made", "find a state job at least", "catch a party to help them with work"; "Not to mix, not to talk, to endure," "to lower the head that the battle was lost" ....
Today, just so, without any adult leadership, the first time, students are realizing that if they raise their voices, they are also heard.
They are learning that they have power over threatening professors and rectors, understanding that no one can violate their rights and most importantly, these students are finally learning that nothing bad comes from revolt for rights your. Albania's history has shown that silence has done a lot of harm.
These days young people are under the adrenaline effect of the crowd, but when the protests end, much more important than the points to be met (of course, even if all is fulfilled, they require their physical time), what should not be 'Missing is the belief and conviction that they count and should be counted. What will happen after the protest is the real indicator if Albania will change or repeat itself. But these young people who today reminded us of a great lecture of democracy can not keep on just what they started. Along with them, we must "dig" and bring the student inside us, what we plunged into the darkness of the Delivery, unfortunately convinced that this place can not be done. But here it is.
